Pressure sensors require reliable sealing in many applications to ensure accurate pressure measurement and prevent leakage. X-ring seals can be used for pressure sensor sealing applications. The following is relevant information:

Material selection: X-ring seals can use a variety of materials, such as rubber (such as fluorine rubber FKM, butyl rubber NBR, etc.) or polyurethane (PU). The choice of material will depend on the application environment and requirements, such as temperature, pressure, chemical properties of the medium, etc.

Structural design: The X-ring seal adopts a special X-shaped cross-section design to form four lips (lips) or sealing surfaces. This structure can provide a better sealing effect and has good resilience to adapt to pressure changes in the pressure sensor.

Sizes and Specifications: X-ring seals are available in different sizes and specifications to suit the needs of different pressure sensors. Dimensions include parameters such as inner diameter, outer diameter, section thickness and lip height, which can be selected based on the specific application.

Temperature and pressure range: X-ring seals usually have a wide temperature and pressure range to adapt to the working conditions of the pressure sensor. The specific temperature and pressure range will depend on the materials and sealing structure selected.

Sealing performance: X-ring seal can provide reliable sealing effect, prevent pressure medium leakage in the pressure sensor, and ensure accurate pressure measurement.

Difference X-Ring VS O-Ring

X-ring (X Ring) and O-ring (O Ring) are two common seals.

Structural shape: There are obvious differences in the structural shape of X-rings and O-rings. The O-ring is an annular seal with a circular cross-section. The X-ring is a seal with an X-shaped cross-section, which presents two intersecting circular or oval cross-sections.

Sealing principle: The sealing principle of the O-ring is based on its circular cross-section. When compressed, the material of the O-ring fills the sealing gap and generates radial pressure, thereby achieving sealing. The X-shaped ring, through its X-shaped cross-section design, forms four sealing lips when compressed. A sealing gap is formed between these lips, which can provide a better sealing effect.

Sealing performance: Compared with O-rings, X-rings usually have better sealing performance. The design of the X-ring enables it to generate greater sealing force when compressed and provide better sealing effect during relative motion. It provides better protection against leaks and penetration and is therefore more commonly used in some more demanding applications.

Anti-torsion performance: Due to the structural characteristics of the X-ring, it usually has better anti-torsion performance than the O-ring. The shape of the X-ring allows it to better resist twisting and rolling during installation and use, providing a more stable seal.
